How to Activate McAfee Antivirus on Windows — Step by Step Guide

What You Need Before You Start

Before activating your McAfee antivirus, make sure you have: your McAfee product key (25-character code), a stable internet connection, and your Windows PC or laptop.

Step 1: Go to McAfee's Activation Page

Step 3: Download the Installer

After entering your key, click "Download" to get the McAfee installer (mcafee_installer.exe). Save it to your Downloads folder.

Step 4: Run the Installer

Double-click the downloaded file. If Windows asks for permission, click "Yes." Follow the on-screen instructions. The installation takes 3-5 minutes.

Step 5: Sign In and Activate
